Art Bell w6obb, Caught Slamming HamFanz Site

Sunday afternoon, March 9, 2008, artie slammed the HamFanz Poll page. He voted for himself as ‘most pompous’ a total of 96 times over a time period of 25 minutes.

(Talk about having too much time on your hands! Or perhaps Airyn Bell isn’t keeping him busy enough?)

At any rate, artie has been BANNED from the Polls Page of www.HamFanz.com! At least until I remember to unban him, or till he apologizes! (I’d bet being banned is something artie is NOT used too!)

Dang you, Evvy! How DARE you criticize my idol, Ar Beww! Don't you know he's PERFECT!? Well, ALMOST perfect. As even I, the world's biggest Ar Beww fan, must admit, it would be good if he'd get a life. And it IS getting a little embarrassing, having to defend him every time he screws up. Well, actually, in all honesty, he's really screwed up. I think he's in a major decline. I sure hope his health holds up. By the way, do you believe this stuff about him quitting smoking? I sure don't!

Yes Billy, I agree that Art is in decline, and he knows it. That is why Art is grooming Scotty K7MIX to take over his place on the Hommm radio. Scotty already has better audio and a stronger signal than the Old Broken Bottle. And of course Scotty is in a completely different league as Jim Watkins or Greg Souza. Scotty has the technical expertise and to money to keep up the show. He also has an attractive wife so you can be sure he is not auto-eroticising himself all day long like The Burbank Boys. Art's favoritism for Scotty reminds me of the time he got friendly with Mac W7LW. Jim Watkins really popped his cork with jealousy back then, I wonder if he'll be able to keep it together this time around.

rf burns, You are right Art is in decline. Ramona made the Art Bell we loved. Now its seems Art thinks he "is in" because of marriage to a very young girl. We now know he is lacking in the morality department and ability in making sound business decisions. I have tried to listen to 3830 hoping to find out what has happened in Arts brain to make his decline. He seems very childish now and very boring. The group is so agreeable to Art its sickening. Art is always interjecting with the "I's" to be number one and on top so to say. Arts audio is very, very harsh on the ears as compared to the groups deeper tones who sound so much better than he. He had best get back to C to C to get the adoration he seeks. I do have to admit, "I sure miss him doing the program" Guess the good old days are and I should wise up also and let go.

Only the Internet Service Provider would know who belongs to a particular IP address. How do you know it's actually Art? Post the IP address for all to see if you don't mind.

I would NEVER post a PRIVATE IP, phone number, address (other than a PO Box), about anyone.

artie, you checked into The HamFanz Grudge Report twice during the hour that this comment was posted. Why don't you ask Paul about the 'complexities' of the internet? But my guess it that BNQ would know much more about it, so why not give him a call?

Just as I thought, a totally false rumor that cannot be substantiated. IP addresses are not private, they are randomly assigned by the users ISP and no matter where you go, you leave your " IP footprint "

I highly suggest you read up on basic internet protocols. Remember, Google is your friend, use it.

Oh, and by the way, I am not Art, I'm not even a ham radio operator. Just a JAFO.....

Exactly as "JAFO" stated, so you see when Steve-O and BNQ ban people from their chat it only works for a day or two. Soon as the ISP re/assignes another IP "leased" address your back on again. Lots of people in Pahrump too, Art, Paul, Jean, Linda, Ron... could have been any of them.

It depends whether or not you have a static IP address. Even if you do not, cable and dsl modems typically keep the same IP address for many months, unless the modem is reset or powered off for several days, causing the IP address to be reassigned to someone else.

Static IP's are rare and expensive. Not for average users.

Cable and DSL modems DO NOT store ISP assigned dynamic IP addresses unless you have a serious drinking problem that has affected your ability to store and remember actual facts.

I have a Static IP address for 49 a month. Never set up a server, though I could. Comments so far are finally explaining the IP system correctly. I have tracked email IP's to general area. The ISP will show its location only. Upon discovery. If you call the discovered ISP they may, or may not tell who the user is.
Big Brother is watching though.
And you can freely through.

No they do not, but the ISP assigns an IP address to the cable or dsl modem based on the MAC address and this IP address normally does not change (at least at my ISP) just because the modem has been unplugged for a period of time.

BTW, I thought no personal attacks were allowed. I guess that must be a selective rule.

You thought wrong. Read the page, you will see nothing of the like mentioned.

-I will NOT approve comments that are a threat to self or others.

-I also do not approve comments that are full of gratitious profanity or hate towards anyone.

-Nor do any 'comments' that promote a ham event make the comments (send these via email to hamfanz@cox.net)

That said, there are only a handfull of comments per year that don't get approved!

BTW, my isp assigns a static IP.

Oh, and WHERE was there a 'personal attack' ???

Some believe that suggesting help to overcome a drug or alchohol problem is a personal attack.

I call it denial.

Wake up before you can't.

The fact that you claimed I was wrong about IP addresses was because you accused me of being drunk and unable to store and remember facts. I am quite able to store and remember facts. My memory is excellent. And, I was right about the IP addresses. You, on the other hand, cannot make a statement, even if it is wrong without insulting someone needlessly. Did that rise to a personal attack or just an insult. The difference is a matter of how you define 'personal attack', I guess. I'll bet it depends on who is being insulted.

Not a personal attack nor insult but merely the best advice a certain individual could ever receive.

It's your life, your choice.
