The Guest House
It would seem that Art - w60bb has completed the 'guest' accommodations part of his 'compound'. A project that the Bell's have been working on for quiet some time.
From his on-air descriptions of these 'guest' facilities ( 27" Sony TV, computer desk and access, coffeepot, etc), it sounds ideal for the visitor. In fact, I don't think I've ever actually LIVED in such posh accommodations. The only real drawback is that it's 60 miles from nowhere...
Mr. Bell has good & bad qualities, as we all do. And I've mentioned before that I admire his loyalty to friends and family. And this is another, obvious, aspect of that quality. But I wonder if he's really thought this one through? Because, if you build it; they WILL come! And once they arrive, they stay and stay and stay...
It's been said that Bonnie Crystal - kq6xa, crawled out of a cave to spend a week-end at the Bell encampment.
I think it was mentioned that this week-end, Ramona's mom was going to be staying in the new guest accommodations.
And Jim Watson - ki6gu, wants to try out the new digs with his dog Scout! One can't help but wonder if 'pet accommodation's have been included?
I do hope the Bells have thought to add a decorous 'guest book' in the room(s); a genteel and classy touch most guests would appreciate. And a great source of memories for the Bells as the years roll by.
It will be interesting to see who visits and who doesn't! And I will be anxiously awaiting the reports! (Wonder if Artie's gonna make his guests sign a 'non-disclosure' agreement before unpacking their bags?)
Now the only question is: did my invite get lost in the email??? (hmmm, wonder if the new 'guest' housing is wheel chair accessible???).
