HamFanz Site is Being Downsized!
There are several reasons for this. The main one being I am starting on a new book-length project (yes!), and doing booklet content for two other sites. I just don’t have the time to maintain www.HamFanz.com the way it’s set up.
Other reasons are:
• No one is making donations and I just don’t have the funds to carry it myself.
• Participation and interest are down (that’s a whole Grudge Report in itself!)
I am (perhaps temporarily) removing the sections that are my largest time ‘eaters’. They are all items that are fairly easily to reinstate, if/when my ‘other’ projects allow me the time or get completed earlier than anticipated.
Knowing for two months that this was coming, in a final push of time expenditure, (I spent hours and hours and hours sorting, naming, etc) I posted all HamFanz Pics in a new Yahoo Photo Site Format http://new.photos.yahoo.com/hamfanz/albums/ You may go add comments (I may delete!) or tags to your pictures. Knock yourselves out!
HamFanz Yahoo Group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HamFanz/ remains as is, as does the HamFanz Grudge Report!

Evve It seems as with the misfits Mr. Bell was the main focus of the site. No matter how you look at it Art was a fascinating character here on ham radio. His nightly activity on 75 meters always created a buzz on the band. However now that he has left town Hamfanz and the misfits can only ride his dust trail. Nobody listens to 3840 anymore its repetitive. Thanks for providing a interesting and entertaining service.

I don't know that I'd go that far. (though I luv to hate artie and dig that thorn into his side!)
However HE was the 'unifier' in that he gathered all the interesting characters on one frequency at specific times.

I can only hope this is NOT the case. HamFanz is about HAMS & FANS, NOT ART BELL. There are a LOT of interesting HAMS & listening out there. But now they are scattered all over the bands.
The problem is, I am only one person and can not monitor 3-4-5 frequencies at the same time! (And my time will be limited due to another project, and I have no idea yet as to the time line for that.)

HamFanz WILL continue, to the best of my current time/financial abilities.
Only the site has been scaled down. Specifically, the areas that required 'high' maintenance".
The Yahoo Group has over 105 members, and surely they have SOMETHING to talk about?
And I have a LIST of items to do Grudge Reports on!
