Elite Hams

As I'm sure most of you already know, artie w6obb, and Scott Barris k7mix, finally took my advice of several weeks ago, and dumped their website www.elitehams.com.

It was far past time, as the only Elites left were artie and Scott. Scott was left holding the bag, or the web site if you will. Typical Art Bell behavior: make lots of big promises; get someone else to do all the work; and then quit participating on a whim.

(Sigh, many tried to 'tell' Scotty.)

Trite but true, 'Good riddance to bad rubbish.' (In all kinds of ways!)

First Annual NAMBPIG Convention

The First Annual NAMBPIG Convention occurred last week in Nevada. This first year’s attendees were Airyn & Art Bell w6obb, and Cherry & Ben Gardner kd7bcw. Apparently, Sharon & Carl Richardson kb5fjx, either were not invited or artie was not willing to foot the bill for more attendees. (Also on hand, still riding on artie’s coat tails was Scott Barris k7mix.)

There were two basic venues, Pahrump and Las Vegas.

In Pahrump, the events included:
-The ‘look what I have and you don’t’ with artie winning by miles.
-Another event was Ben getting on the LittlePeeps Network, using artie’s radio equipment, in which Ben was the winner, at least by LittlePeeps standards.
-Then there was the ‘gracious’ event, in which Ben had to perform various forms of ‘thank yous’, for his wife, for the trip to Pahrump (strange that artie never paid for Ben to visit before, and of course, Ben never had the funds for such a trip being on SSD and living with his mother), and artie had to graciously accept. Equal winners here.
-Perhaps in the Pahrump venue, there might have been the bedroom ‘swapping’ event (as artie has a rumored reputation for this).

In Las Vegas, the events included:
-The tourist event, seeing a show, and having dinner with Scotty.
-A side event was the children riding amusement rides with artie

Throughout all venues, the kids, Airyn & Cherry were able to visit extensively; surely comparing notes on the problems of being married to an old man, their new roles in life, and the demands now required of them (Adult Pampers, Diabetic Diets, Viagra, and sex, sex, sex!).

It will be interesting to see what ‘events’ next year’s convention will bring! (Which is almost as much fun as a ‘Lord of the Loop’ gathering.) Perhaps more NAMBPIG’s will be in attendance.

Elites kissed & made up?

On the night of July 7, 2008, the remaining Elites were on the air. Art Bell w6obb, Jim Watkins ki6gu, Scott Barris k7mix, and various other bit players including Jim Southwick m7js, and Bill Houlne wb6bnq (with one line), showed up.

Gu and artie tried very hard to pretend that they hadn’t been on air because propagation has been so bad (and basically it has been), but that didn’t stop the LittlePeeps nor the Short Attention Span Network!

In fact, the Elites have not been on air because there was still another big blow up. It would seem that artie and Scotty accused GU of telling SOMEONE, SOMETHING. So they were calling GU a rat, took all his pics off EliteHams site, etc. and left 3820 (where GU stayed put).

Now, we are right back to square one, where we were years ago, before the FIRST split. Does artie have the right to tell other hams who they can talk to, or what they can say, or when, or how? Many do not think so, thus the repeated ‘splits’.

By now, artie is down to (literally) a handful of ‘worshipers’. So this split left artie wandering the bands in search of a home (what-propagation was not bad those nights?). It is no surprise that artie did not find any takers. I said then, that the Elites would be forced to kiss and make up.

Scotty trailed along on arties travels. When you put all your eggs in one basket, as Scotty has done big time, you are likely to end up with nothing but broken eggs. Scotty only made a very brief appearance towards the end of the night. In recent days, he has claimed that he is working 12-hour days, 7 days a week, so that he does not have time to get on air, or to do the Phone Patch. This may or may not be true, but it sure sounds like a handy and socially acceptable way to ‘distance’ himself from the whole mess.

After many days, the Elites got back together on air. They may have ‘made up’ behind the scenes, but you could almost see the animosity dripping from the radio. The appearance of Jim Southwick (whom GU actually seemed to almost attack), helped fill the long empty silences between the Elites. One cannot help but wonder if he was contacted and invited to the party for just that reason.

That night, I do not think the Elite Hams site, chat, or phone patch was mentioned by any of them. Perhaps they should just take the site down (as has been rumored that Scotty wants to do). But, I am sure that artie will find another loop worshiping subject, to carry the load for him. It is just a matter of time…

Elites, Crashed and Burned

Well, that did not take long did it? The Elites have not been heard on-air (together), on their usual frequency, for a couple of weeks now.

Due to a schism between Jim Watkins ki6gu and Scott Barris k7mix (the new artie ‘go to’ boy), there are now only 2.5 remaining Elites: Art Bell w6obb, Scotty k7mix, and the half Elite, Ben Gardner kd7bcw (whose heart is really with the LittlePeeps – but jeeze, artie DID paid for his wife).

The schism between Jim and Scotty was predicted weeks before it happened by all the ‘behind the scenes’ folks. It was a given, no surprise; so much so, that one can’t help wondering if artie set it up that way?

But the crash of the Elites does present some dilemmas.

What about their web site? The Elites boast that 111 folks have signed up for their chat. What in the world do the chatters talk about if there are no Elites on air?

What about the ‘phone patch’, which their web site still promotes? Have you heard a phone patch lately? I sure have not! (In the ‘spirit’ of prior, smug on air challenges for me to call in, talk to the Elites, I formally invite the Elites to come here, using their REAL NAMES, and post their views of this event, and unlike what they undoubtedly planned for me, I won’t even ‘bait’ them! Other than to say, The HamFanz site and The HamFanz Grudge Report has certainly lasted longer than a few weeks!

I have to admit, I miss listening to them, ALL of them. I especially miss listening to them as they were a couple of years ago, when artie’s worshipers numbered in the dozens, and the band (3840 then) sizzled with hams and interesting conversations. Of course, that was pre Airyn Bell. (artie, has anyone mentioned that you cannot have it all?)

Other than leaving all the Elite ‘fans’ in the lurch ONCE AGAIN, there is a funny side to all of this. That funny side is hearing artie intrude on other on-air groups, usually with Scotty in tow, trying to find worshipers to convert. My guess would be that Jim ki6gu is ‘sitting’ on 3720, and artie and Scotty cannot go back there without doing a LOT of knee bending.

Artie is obviously looking for a place to take over and call home. Yes, artie is indeed looking for a home, in all kinds of ways!

Since artie, in recent months, is making enemies (Greg w6ezv, Jim ki6gu) of Elites faster than he can find replacements, perhaps he should just move to the PI’s and stay there. He has about run out of people here… (Note that I say ‘people’ and not friends, because artie does not know how to be a ‘friend’.)

The Elites Phone Patch

It would seem that the Elites have some difficulty in getting folks to call in to their Phone Patch during the middle of the night. The ‘correct’ folks, I should say, as they will only take calls from ‘unblocked’ numbers.

Art Bell w6obb is plaintively heard issuing the plea to make that call, kind of like some strange, unknown night bird, perhaps the blue-bellied bully. He and Scott Barris k7mix, note that the phone patch is open, “call 702.727.8176”.

Other than the usual Elites, last night, there where a lot of Hams on hand to talk to callers; Stan wg6k, Ben kd7bcw, and even Steve k6txh (who actually got a call, even though it was uhhh, questionable). But few real callers, and a lot of pranksters.

It would seem, that there are those out there who call the Elites Phone Patch, just to keep the phone jammed up so that no one else can get through. I cannot imagine why. Eventually, last night, they had to shut down the Phone Patch because of this little problem. (So why not just have 'open lines'? Wouldn't that solve the problem?)

The Elites seem to need such instant gratification (loop worship from afar) that if any time passes with no callers, they get frantic. To entice callers, they are now offering ‘prizes’ such as a random 'trip to Hawaii' offered by artie w6obb,

Now the question is, is it legal to ‘offer prizes’ when there is no intention of awarding them? Is it legal to use the Ham Bands to run a contest for the public?

I personally have no idea and do not really care, though there are probably state and federal agencies that do. I just want legit (ahmmm!) callers to keep those Phone Patch calls coming in! It is all about fun, isn’t it?

Elites Histronics and Lies

Last night, The Elites, especially Art Bell w6obb, and Scott Barris k7mix, again went into unprovoked attack mode.

Of Particular interest was when artie stated that he didn't track the HamFanz Chat, as I've had to ban a jillion of his IP's in the last month as he has repeatedly tried to get into HamFanz Chat. And when he as been able to do so, he ALWAYS posted under a fake ID, vulgar, insulting, threatening messages! Many can attest to that. (I have also been told that he is doing the same at Steve's Chat www.RadioWingnuts.com )

If it's not him using his multiple home computers and IP's, then he'd better check with his wife...

Then too were the lies that I had been a chief opponent to the Elites having a passworded chat. That is far, far from the reality. All one has to do, is to click on the 'Elite' link on this page and read the articles.

What I objected too, was being REFUSED a password to the Elite Chat AFTER they had (and still do) say that all you have to do to get a password to their chat, is to request one! Which I did, and I was denied one.

Well, now it is REALLY 'tit for tat' (though that was NEVER the reason for setting up a passworded HamFanz Chat!); show me yours, boys, and I'll show you mine!

In the meantime, EVERYONE knows you, Art Bell, to be a liar!

The Elites New Chat Room is Open!

Turns out the Elites are using ParaChat, which I tried out over a year ago, and found to be 'vexing' at best...

According to the above pic, The Gatekeeper has 112 emails. He says, all are applying for a password. Now we don't know that to be the case, but if so, perhaps artie should be bemoaning his lowered fan base!

At any rate, I think EVERYONE should email the 'gatekeeper', requesting a password to the NEW Elites Chat (which will only hold 50 people-so you had better hurry!). I applied for mine!

The Elites New Web Site

Is it going to be functional this year? I mean, HOW many hams does it take to build a website? (Rather reminds you of those old ‘light bulb’ jokes, yes?).

The fact is, their website www.elitehams.com is up, (Bringing Fun Back to Ham Radio) if not yet ‘announced’ or open to the public yet.

Note that they have formally taken the name I gave them and they derisively ‘put down’ night after night after night!

Elite Hams, Produced by k7Mix and designed by synsyn creations, looks slick, but I don't see anything there that isn't on Steve Wingate's w6txh, site i.e. a lightening map, a photo album, links to the receivers, etc. But I guess that as long as it pleases artie...

What they do with this site, and how they maintain it, remains to be seen. With luck, SWL's will be in for a 'ride'.

Elites: Let the Bitch Slapping Begin!

The Elites proclaimed attitude of 'live and let live', forgive but don't forget, warm fuzzy stuff didn't last long. In fact, it did not even last ONE month! And it turned out that the reason they were recently all off air for almost two weeks, was this big combination rift/row (as I alluded to in an earlier article).

Last night, Greg Sousa w6ezv, (apparently now a former Elite), dropped in on artie Bell w60bb, Jim Watkins ki6gu, Scott Barris k7mix, Ben Gardner kd7bcw, and other Bell hanger-on's, like a bomb.

It didn't take two minutes for the bitch slapping to begin.

Rage, vengeance, threats of bodily harm, justification, prior bad acts, hurt feelings, blame, snitching, denial, unfettered testosterone, ohhh, the PSYCHOdrama of it all!

For those of us awaiting this welterweight event, there was the sense of "I told you so” while listening to the disintegration of adult males into a bickering (but much more violent) bunch of biddies.

The Elites have been small in numbers since artie recently put them together, as many former ‘cult of the loop’ worshipers no longer wish to have anything to do with him. (I wonder why?).

Though recently, there has been an influx of ‘newbies’ (who know not of what they’re getting involved in), due in large part to artie’s on air solicitations that include the ‘bait’ of speaking with him via a phone patch, and a chat room.

Now the Elites are going to be one less, unless ki6gu and w6ezv are able to set aside their MAJOR differences, which they actually might do for artie’s sake, as artie has threatened (again) last night to leave Ham radio and/or move to the Philippines as “it just isn’t fun anymore.” Since ki6gu and w6ezv have burned their bridges on so many other frequencies and with so many other Hams, without artie, WHO would they talk too now?

The Elites are Back

Last night, after almost two weeks of ‘group’ silence, the Elites, Ben Gardner kd7bcw, Art Bell w6obb, Scott Barris k7mix, Jim Watkins ki6gu, (sans Greg Sousa w6ezv) returned to the air.

After ‘leaking’ to the chat boards where they would be, sure enough, the Elites appeared on 3.807 after midnight.

Though both kd7bcw, and w6ezv have been heard, not together, on different frequencies in the last couple of weeks, and artie was on briefly with the Little Peeps a couple of nights ago, mainly, they have been quiet. This uncharacteristic ‘silence’, which spilled over to the Ham sites and chat rooms, promoted wild conjecture and supposition among Hams & SWL’s.

When in reality it was probably just another ‘split’, or a clash of egos. Rumor has it that there was a big blow up, with Sousa w6ezv being the instigator.

The Elites tried to pick up where they left off, rather unsuccessfully, their return boring and anticlimactic.

While they were off air, life went on; there was some terrific listening on The Short Attention Span Network, and even Glen Thurman’s kn6z, description of his upcoming vacation on the Little Peeps was more interesting than the secretive antics of the Elites!

By eliminating anyone interesting from their ranks, the Elites have reduced themselves to a little clique of predictable ‘worshipers of the loop’ (artie).

The Art Bell w6obb, ‘Show’ is Back!

From staying off air, to talking to a few close worshipers on closely guarded frequencies now and again, to spending an entire evening with the Little People and getting snubbed big time, (and yes, I do have the recordings, they will be posted on The Secret Page!) artie has gathered his remaining cult-of-the-loop members on 3.830.

I cannot even begin to imagine the time, cost, and energy that artie must have spent in the behind the scene work, but he HAS pulled it all together. This last weekend was good – after midnight listening! (Again, the recordings, at least of Friday night, will be temporarily uploaded to the Secret Page!)

‘Jamming’ has been at a minimum, so far. Steve Wingate k6txh, (or recordings of) were injected Sunday evening, but were sporadic. (Does artie buy ‘em off, threats, or what?).

The usual suspects are involved: Art Bell w6obb, Jim Watkins ki6gu, Ben Gardner kd7bcw, Scott Barris k7mix, and a ‘drop’ in cast of many Hams. Carl Richardson kb5fjx, artie’s brother in law in Arkansas, and someone we don’t hear from very often anymore, even checked in (though you could barely copy him) one night.

Art Bell claims to be retired, and in pursuit of his hobby; but this, even though on Amateur Radio, is a planned and formatted artie production. They are setting up a ‘phone patch’ through Skype. They are using a real time chat (more later!). Of interest, artie is doing NONE of this scut work, his minions are volunteering their time and energy (and funds?).

This group of hams has not adopted a formal name, but of course, they are still The Elites!

Art Bell w6obb, is Not Getting Enough Attention

I guess artie has not been getting enough ‘space’ in The HamFanz Grudge Report lately, so last night he baited his Elite buddies on 3.720 by starting a conversation on air about the last Grudge Report, “A MAN’S WORD.” (It would seem that artie, among other things, is ‘reading comprehension challenged, as he claimed to not understand the article.)

Being the manipulator he is, he deftly led ki6gu and k6mix into saying what artie wouldn’t, but wanted to hear. Most of them followed his lead, like Lemmings off a cliff; wb6bnq stayed out of the fray, ki6gu really did try to sidestep, and k6thx in his usual ‘altered’ state was, well, was SteveO.

Now some would think, that artie 'manipulated' me into responding. NOT! I decided to do this Grudge Report, and post the PUBLIC DOMAIN recordings:
1) in the hopes that the 'sheep' would realize how artie is using them, and how 'sickly needy' they are,
2) that someone will send copies to their mothers, they ought to be really proud of their sons.
3) that those who still don't know will understand that the ELITES, really do believe, deep down inside, that they are indeed, the ELITE!

Chaos Reigns

I know there is not a full moon; are we not just barely past a full moon, or was it a new moon? Could it be sunspots? Something has ‘triggered’ absolute chaos across the bands! Is it a conspiracy of some type? Or did 'they' think I was just not busy enough to keep those donations coming in...

1) Jim Southwick n7js was removed for the second time from http://www.hamcams.com/ , allegedly for posting a ‘pornographic pic. Paul Bowman w7mag, said the stick figure with the gas
nozzle was offensive to his daughter. I would assume the pic of a very pregnant Airyn Bell in only a bra was not, since artie’s pics are still present.

1A) Scott Baris n6edv, was ‘demoted’ on the http://www.hamcams.com/ page. Was there a reason? Did he also post a pic that Paul’s daughter found offensive? Could it be that he can be heard on 3.840 (as is Jim n7js)?

1B) Which goes a long way to prove that artie w6obb, still, ‘owns’ Paul Bowman and HamCams.

2) 3840 was jammed for HOURS starting with traditional ‘call to battle’ bagpipe music. (Find audio clips: 2007_05_16_KI6GU_Bagpipes_Are_Overwhelming_Here.mp3 & 2007_05_16_WB6BNQ_W6WBJ_All_Done_Jamming_Now_Greg.mp3 Bill Crowell w6wbj, on air, claimed that Greg Sousa w6ezv was the source. Others were wondering if Billy was doing the jamming himself. Why would the ‘world’s biggest jammer’ be upset by a little jamming anyway? (Again, a case for the fact that Billy w6wbj, can dish it out but not take it!)

3) Steve Wingate k6txh, again deeply under the ‘influence’ and losing it on 3.840 for HOURS in the wee hours of 5.18.07 (Clip: KI6GU_W6EZV_K6TXH_Steve Goes Nuts (again).mp3 ). When Steve was asked, fairly nicely at first I might add, to shut up or leave, and he chose to do neither, it was revealed that he was growing marijuana for sale, at his Northern California home. (Which, I may add, was alluded to here, in The HamFanz Grudge Report earlier. Click on the k6txh link!). Will law enforcement soon be visiting SteveO? Will the FCC take any action? I will believe neither until I see it.

3A) Greg Souse was on air on 3.840 via a phone patch, compliments Jim ki6gu.

3B) In retaliation for the above, Steve Wingate w6txh, banned Jim Watkins ki6gu, and Scott Baris n6edv (after reposting a pic of ki6gu), from his http://www.3840hams.net/ site. (Like the police knocking on your door and a felony conviction are equivalent to not having a place to post personal pics!) This doesn't seem to leave much of a web site.

4) There is gossip that ‘Sawyer’ is still one more of billy’s w6wbj, multiple ID’s! As Jim’s Tuner remains off line, yet ‘Sawyer’ (whose only email is at his 3840aa site), and who claims he is a SWL, is recording and posting audio clips. BTW, ‘Sawyer’ (which rhymes with lawyer), never chats about his radio, antenna etc. as do most SWL’s.



...So many of these Hams have ‘fallen’ so many time, from so many things, that they not only have the properties of dominos, knocking down the next in line, but I suspect some (like SteveO), are actually developing spots on body and soul, white, yellow, or otherwise!

My phone and email has been ‘hot, hot’ hot’ the last few days and I have been trying to sort out fact from wishful thinking! As I get more background on these events, I will follow up! If you have MORE information, let me know...

KNYE: Whisper Campaign

IMMEDIATELY after the posting on the HamFanz Grudge Report of the story, ‘KNYE Gets Needed Help’ on 6.1.06 (see the archives), a sneaky, underhanded, surreptitious, whisper campaign was started.

A few ‘key’ people were handpicked and fed a ‘rebuttal’ that was the total fabrication of one person. These ‘key’ people, trusting a fellow HAM, were then USED (and directed?) without their knowledge to ‘spread the lies’.

In this purposely derogatory and slanderous ‘whisper campaign’ Jim Watkins KI6GU, and Greg Sousa W6EZV, were made out to be deliberate and total liars. The documentation they provided, it was claimed, was just ‘Photoshopped’.

I was slammed, from all directions, as being a fool. I cannot begin to tell you how many emails, messenger messages, phone calls, and over the air comments, I received claiming that Greg Sousa, and Jim Watkins had duped me. That ‘they’ had ‘got me’ good.

I knew better than that, and so I told everyone that contacted me, though I could not reply to the on air slander.

Neither Jim Watkins nor Greg Sousa had ever lied to me that I am aware of, even when we have disagreed on stuff (and that has been often!). Not only that, but over the years, both these HAMS seems to have had a penchant for ‘supporting’ the truth, whatever that may be. But mostly, I knew better because both of them have backed (in general, if not on specifics) the activities of the HamFanz conglomerate. So why would they want to ‘get me’? What would be the 'motive'?

Paul Bowman W7MAG, on the other hand, is a charter member of nothing but the Art Bell kiss ass society. Paul Bowman had (still has) a vested, monetary interest in the activities of Art Bell, W6OBB, (and probably lost a lot of business income when artie escaped the country). Paul Bowman has been arties Pahrump flunky for years. (As Big Ben Gardner KD7BCW, has been on the air and the internet.)

Indeed one can’t help but wonder what kind of ‘cut’ Paul is getting for selling arties’ stuff. And it’s been on my mind, ever since it occurred, just what artie might have said to Paul when Paul went to Laughlin, picked up artie after Ramona’s death, and drove him home... (Anyone have a recording of THAT long trip?)

Anyway, it was not surprising that I was able to track the ‘whisper campaign’ back to Paul Bowman, and it only took me a few days to do it. Now, it is quite possible that Paul was taking directions or ideas from artie about this slander campaign – this I have no way of knowing, unless Paul decides to do the right thing and tells us.

That Paul seemed to be at the bottom of this mess did surprise me somewhat, as Paul Bowman has for years represented himself as a ‘family man’, and has talked of going to mass on Sunday. If that is the case, I think he needs to put in an appearance at church more often!

Paul also had other options, rather than to try to smear the reputations of two fellow HAMS, and myself. He could just as easily have posted a rebuttal here on the HamFanz Grudge Report. Or joined the HamFanz list, ditto there, etc. He could have called or emailed me (I do not know if he was in contact with either Greg or Jim).

Paul Bowman could have told us all WHY it was so important for him that he’d lie, and set up a whisper campaign maligning several people that were only telling the truth as they knew it, or set up others to carry out his fraud. Or why this relatively innocuous information be kept silent. Want to tell us why, Paul???

KNYE Gets Needed Help

Karen Jackson, the new Station Manager of KNYE, 95.1 FM, in Pahrump, Nevada, has a lot of career experience and success in many areas of business. But not in running a radio station.

A friend of Ramona Bell, Ms. Jackson took on the prodigious job of running KNYE when Art Bell left the country to marry a 23-year-old Filipina he met on the internet, before his wife of 15 years, (and owner of KNYE) Ramona had been in her grave 10 weeks.

Not coming from a radio background and needing some help with learning the ‘ropes’, Ms. Jackson called on two experienced Radio engineers; HAMS and former friends of Art & Ramona Bell whom Ms. Jackson had met on their prior visits to Pahrump, KNYE, and the Bell’s home. She requested them to facilitate her ‘learning curve’ with the needed new radio skills.

Greg Sousa W6EZV, was in Pahrump from May 15th to the 19th, 2006. Jim Watkins KI6GU, was in Pahrump from May 16th to the 18th, 2006. They taught Ms. Jackson how to use and adjust Adobe Audition, among other things.

They also took KNYE ‘live’ and took questions from listeners. Below are pictures of them on-air.

I have no idea what Greg Sousa was paid, but Jim Watkins supplied me with a copy of his paycheck, before cashing it:

This was apparently an agreeable arrangement all around. Ms. Jackson got the help and tutoring she felt she needed, and Greg Sousa and Jim Watkins earned a few extra bucks (probably not enough to pay for their gasoline) and were able to help out, in Ramona’s name.

The only fly in the ointment turned out to be Paul Bowman W7MAG, who it would seem, became enraged when he found a picture of Jim Watkins KI6GU, working at KNYE on his http://www.hamcams.com/ that Greg Sousa W6EZV, had posted. He ‘bumped’ Greg’s HamCams spot almost immediately.

This development was surprising, but not, to me. Does Paul Bowman feel he is Art Bell‘s business manager? Has he been legally given ‘carte blanche’ over Arts affairs (what a pun)? Art Bell hired Ms. Jackson, and he is her ‘boss’, not Paul Bowman.

Much more likely, was Paul just angry in a petty sort of way, to see a picture of Jim Watkins on his precious HamCams page, when Art Bell had directed him to ban Jim from the popular site? After all, it IS his site, or at least he hosts and maintains it per original request from Art Bell, so he can do what he wants with it. He can pick and choose who may use it, but in doing so, he lets the rest of the world see his nasty feelings in an unintended way.

I for one am glad to see KNYE, one of Ramona’s pet projects, being cared for so professionally, (even if it is making Art Bell more money), by Ms. Jackson. Congrats to Ms. Jackson, Jim Watkins, and Greg Sousa for doing the right thing! Finally, I think Ms. Jackson hired the right people for the job; KNYE’s audio sounds much better now...

The Male Morons!

The full moon and an excess of testosterone again combined to give us a peek into the ‘real men’ that populate 3.840, and made full-blown fools of all of them in the process! Yet most of these jerks are quick to be the ‘first to throw stones’ at anyone else. Hypocrites all! Last night’s scores:

-8 to Greg Sousa w6ezv for the out and out, repeated, threats against Steve Wingate. “I’m gonna bring three gallons of gasoline, sprinkle it around your house and light a match.” This actually escalated to Greg Sousa REQUESTING that anyone who was within close driving distance to Steve’s home should to go “take care of the problem.” These threats made my hair stand on end; there are people out there just crazy enough to do as requested! His wife should cut him off for a month if not more!

-6 to Steve Wingate k6thx for the foul language. I had nothing against the content of his meanderings, but the EXCESSIVE foul language, provoked or not, is way above and beyond, even for THESE liberal ears. I think George Carlin could add a few new invectives to HIS list from Steve’s profane vocabulary. This score would have been worse, except that Steve seemed to sober up a little as the night went on. Steve should have to go to an AA meeting every day for a month!

-5 to Art Bell w6obb who at the beginning actually instigated the confrontation. THEN when the going got rough, artie got going! He NEVER said another word, meaning he never tried to ‘calm’ anyone down. The old 'hit & run' technique my older sister mastered so well as a chld, as MOST kids do, artie uses repeatedly, with aplomb! The ‘master of manipulation’ had done it again, hit & run. artie should have to come live with ME for a month! I cured my sister, I could also cure him of this extremely nasty habit.

-5 to Art Bell who PRACTICED the supreme form of control, as I absolutely KNEW he would sooner or later, and it happened to be sooner, by NOT replaying last night’s recordings TODAY. (So what GOOD is the highly [self] touted Pahrump Receiver? Many complain they can’t get in (I must admit I haven’t had that problem). You have to ‘ping’ it every hour to keep it going, so you can't record, and it’s going to be edited by artie whenever he chooses. The Lord of the Loop speaks again!)

-4 To Jim Watson ki6gu for taking a picture from the http://www.3840HamFans@yahoogroups/ list, where he’s been a non-participant on ‘no-mail’ status, by choice, for months. The picture in question was part of a set awaiting uploading to the 3840HamFans picture album. He posted this pic on HamCams, simply to please artie and curry his favor! Though he DID credit HamFans for the pic, he certainly KNOWS how to reach me on Messenger and via email! Jim has been asked repeatedly to NOT infringe on copywrited list materials by posting them without permission. Obviously, it’s more important to Jim to please artie then abide by federal copywrite laws. Jim should have to read the entire American copywrite law! (btw Jim, it's easily found on the net.)

-3 to all the OTHER, minor, participants of this debacle. Why did they not just go elsewhere? Or ignore Steve??? No, they choose to participate in their own small (and I do mean small) ways. In the end, they all contributed to what must be one of the lowest moments in HAM radio, OR helped to put on a good 'show', depending on how you want to look at it. This segment of 'the group' should all have to stay totally SILENT, no matter what the conversation; no, not one word to anyone, other than to ID as legally required, for two consecutive nights on 3.840.

I can’t help but wonder what these ‘macho’ men would think if they KNEW recordings of this ego driven, male moron, mob mentality, psychologically sick, drivel, had been sent to their mothers, wives, significant others, sisters, nieces? Or if they opened their morning papers to see it PRINTED in entirety, on the front page for all to read???

The STEVE Marathon

It started early last night with Jim Watkins ki6gu rehashing everything Steve Wingate kg6txh has ever said or ever done since the first day Steve got his license. I'm sure this was interesting for those who only listen sporadically. Besides, it's 'easier' on the ears to hear Jim reporting the antics, than to listen to them 'live'.

It wasn't long however, before the 'show' began; Greg Sousa w6ezv & Steve Wingate kg6txh took up where they'd left off the night before. Well, let me back up; THEY also rehashed it all, starting at square one.

Only tonight, tempers flared earlier, and burned brighter. Steve insulted Greg's wife and child (doesn't Greg KNOW when his buttons are being pushed?), and Greg threatened to beat Steve to a pulp.

Believe it or not, it then ESCALATED. These two, supposedly adult men had to take the 'pissing' contest further. Greg said that he'd really been 'mobile' all evening and would be pulling up in front of Steve's house at any minute. Steve said HE had a gun.

It got even worse! Steve said he might have been shot in the head and was bleeding badly. Then, Robolon ke7bbx did absolutely the RIGHT thing in calling the authorities to check on Steve, for which he took much abuse from Steve.

The local police arrived and offered to take Steve to the hospital, or so Steve reports. (Was there an injury? And if so, from what???) Yo, Steve, don't you think the police are gonna get tired of playing these 'frequency' games???

I don't pretend to understand the dynamics of this specific situation, but I have my thoughts on the subject (you knew that, huh?).

Greg (and others), why would an adult even try to argue with or insult, a drunk? Or take what an obviously incapacitated person says as chapter & verse??? How can a grown man not realize that even the mentally ill, or the drunk, have feelings that can be hurt??? Don't you realize that the harder you try to 'push' him away, the more he'll 'clutch'??? Ask any Mother or psychologist!

I also don't understand why Steve so desperately needs the acceptance & approval of this group. (And I think that was what he was originally wanting!). And why Steve doesn't find a 12 step program, a good psychiatrist, a therapist and work towards getting a real life (there IS one out there for you Steve!)??? I don't understand why Steve is sticking around for the PAIN...

I don't understand WHY folks don't completely ignore Steve Wingate or go to another frequency (as some obviously have, Art, Ben, etc.), OR turn off their radios!!!

Back to the 'Steve Marathon'. I eventually went to bed, sad and sick at heart for all involved. And GLAD that with all my financial and physical problems, I have more sense & empathy than some of these folks!

Imagine my surprise, when at 6:15 AM, I awoke to hear Steve's voice!!! Sounding much more 'sober & sane' on 3.840, chatting with another HAM about equipment! Does this man never sleep (mania will do that, so will agitated depression, BTDT!). This has to be some kind of record...

WANT TO SEE 'THE GRUDGE REPORT' CONTINUE???

Testosterone Wars

First of all, let me tell you up-front, you are not going to agree with me!

It was a full moon and a Friday night, the prospects were ripe for the continuation of the Testosterone Wars (or male posturing, or the battle for territory)...

I listened for hours to Greg Sousa w6ezv and Steve Wingate kg6txh as they AGAIN battled it out. Last night the fighters were joined by Jim Southwick n7js and Robolon ke7bbx who often tried to either moderate or inject some sanity.

Today, after listening to the recordings of the BIG BATTLE, and giving it all some serious thought, these are SOME of the conclusions I came too (your view may be different & probably is!):

-Greg is RIGHT, Steve uses too much foul language that does not belong on air. AND Steve doesn't fight 'fair'; he often (for lack of better 'weapons'?) goes WAY over the line by insulting & attacking a HAMS family.

-Greg LIKES this as he continually BAITS Steve till he 'lures' Steve into 'performing' in the manner that Greg desires. No doubt to fulfill Greg's (& his backer's) own agenda's.

-Steve LIKES this, as he never withdraws, but plays the game. He allows himself to get angry to the point of 'loss of self-control', over and over and over again. Each outburst more vulgar & vile than the one before (and less lucid!).

-The OLDER & WISER folks may have been listening, but you notice that they DID NOT participate? Both participants are in their 30's would be my guess. Thus it may seem as childish as it IS to us 'older' folks.

-I have NO DOUBT that behind the scenes, each combatant had 'crews' in their corners (via email & messenger & phone), giving advice and wiping away the blood.

-Therefore, the battle rages! When the solution, for all, is not only known, but SIMPLE. Do not engage the person that is pushing your buttons. Without 'the psychological reinforcement' a response brings, it would end! Quickly and forever!

-Since NO ONE has done this, they MUST LIKE it, need it. The rage feeds them, eggs them on. (But it's also using them up, in all kinds of ways, personal and public, as that is the way of rage.)

-The non-combatants LIKE taking sides! They are rooting for their 'teams'! Now who is 'sicker'; the fighters or their backers (it's almost to the point that folks are placing bets!).

-No one seems to have thought this through or played 'WHAT IF'.

someone really gets hurt?
someone has a heart attack or gets hospitalized because of this?
someone loses their FCC license?
or several lose their FCC license?
if it turned out that Steve had MS, or ALS, or a brain tumor?
if we knew that some 12 year old was really hearing this trash?
someone 'loses' it and hurts someone else?
if friends for years were no longer friends because they took 'sides'?
if a third of the 3840 denizens abandoned ship because of this?
someone hurts themselves?
a third of the swl's stopped listening? (Where would the 3840 Hams be without their fans?)

How would we ALL feel IF any of these things happened? So come on, you guys, STOP living through your hormones! Learn to control your impulses, instead of them controlling you! Otherwise you are just wild animals in the middle of 'rutting' season (and that's exactly how you look to a lot of folks!). Just start using your mental 'delete' keys, or walk away from that microphone, or change frequencies, before someone really gets hurt!
