HamFanz is 4 Years Old!!!

http://www.hamfanz.com/ is four years old today! And you said it would never last!

Actually, HamFanz has gone through several name changes during the years, but the 'mission' of the site, to bring Hams & SWL together is still its function. And the final nom de plume fits perfectly...

HamFanz REALLY began with the Yahoo Group, 3840 on April 20th 2003. The HamFanz Grudge Report made its debut as a blog on 8.6.05. But the .com site formally went up on 4.1.04, (April Fool's Day, of course!) so that is the 'date' formally celebrated!

Just for the fun of it, here is one of the first messages in 3840YahooGroups.com:

"Good Job Evvy, I just added a few things to it... This might be the place to go to if the "Main Site" in Utah has problems. I guess we can do a Conference Chat in here ???"

HamFanz was initially 'born' when Karen Larrimore w6asa (now w6zx), Patricia Ray (now k4ze), and I spent night after night in the MidnightHams Chat room. After being 'admonished' and 'kicked' several times, then banned, we started our own Yahoo Group, which at that time, had a chat also.

Now Trish has her ticket (and her music) and you don't hear her on air much anymore (she started as a SWL also). Karen has moved on to Charles, and is seldom on air (or at least on the frequencies Karen used to hang out on). And I am left doing HamFanz by myself.

And a BIG THANKS to all who have taken part, making the 'hobby' so MUCH more fun for all!!!

Oh My! What a ride it has been!

Chuck/Karen Larimore w6so or...

It would seem that last Sunday evening, according to The Little People Log, which Glenn Thurman kn6z keeps, recording the ‘happenings’ of 3.765. (and I enjoy reading every so often). That Chuck Larimore of Sun City, was on air (wonder if Art Bell w6obb, getting back on air recently has anything to do with Larimore showing up?).

Now, wouldn’t you think that ‘Chuck’ would email old friends when he was going to be on air so we could listen?

Glenn’s Little People Log states that ‘Chuck’ is now ke7kw, but this must be a typo as http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HamFanz/.

Plus, it’s just plain interesting to see what Larimore is going to ‘morph’ into next...

This is the same person who just a couple of months ago requested that the call w6so be removed from HAMFAZ, as s/he just didn’t want to be involved with all that 3.840 stuff anymore, it just wasn’t his/her cup of tea!

Stupid me, I complied with the request. Usually I don't. But hadn't heard her/him on air much lately, so I deleted the entry. Guess now I will have to go put it back! If he/she is sending out this kind of email to the HAMS, then he/she is STILL a PLAYER.

I admit I am flummoxed. I was not aware that legally and physically one could just go back and forth between the sexes. Which is apparently what ‘Chuck’/‘Karen’ is doing.

It was only a couple of years ago that ‘Karen’ was really ticked off because someone (not me!) told artie that she used to be a he. This was after she had visited him at Pahrump, spent the night, etc. Artie was left with egg on his face because he had not known, though it is not his business.

The subject was all over everywhere, on air, on HAMFANZ (we STILL have net links in our files where ‘Karen’ posted to various news groups (and it was archived) about the surgery that made her a female from a male). Was this all a lie? A wishful fabrication?

btw, does anyone have any of those Karen as a 'blonde bombshell' pics she was posting, sending all over a few years ago? I would love to have them!


All I know is that Karen/Chuck definitely has balls (of one sort or another!), as it must be extremely difficult to go through these kind of changes. Especially in the ‘public’ eye of the HAMS, who tend to be extremely conservative, judgmental, and closed minded.

Though it also is none of my business, I would love to know the story behind this story!

On The Right Hand Of ???

I first noticed the change between one and two weeks ago. Perhaps it happened during that week when my computer was down (not being one of those folks that have 17 of 'em, as Artie not so subtly brags he has!)

But, I digress... The thing is, there is a difference on www.HamCams.com . If anyone has noticed it, I haven't heard about it, either on air, via email, or on our list http://groups.yahoo.com/group/3840HamFans/ (New members always welcome!).

The exit of Karen Larrimore w6so has occurred without a whimper, compared to her solar flare entrance a few short months ago! An event much heralded, welcomed by Art Bell w6obb.

Karen Larrimore w6so, can still be heard on 3840 once in awhile in the early evenings (usually long before Art's golden voice hits the ethers.)

Hmmm. Could this be because Artie is now as cold as ice to Karen, that is, even if he is polite enough to respond, which he often isn't. I mean, is there a reason for this??? OTHER than the OBVIOUS??? )

Anyway, as soon as I returned with a working computer, (thanks to a local HAM), I checked out www.HamCams.com . I noticed right away that Karen's picture 'spot' had moved from it's month's long position just to the right of, and beside, Art Bell's top row middle position to mid-way down the page. Then, a few days later, I noticed there was NO pic spot for Karen at all! And so it's been ever since. I know because I check.

The 'line-up' was thus: Top row, Paul w7mag (www.HamCams.com owner and neighbor/friend of Art), Artie, and Karen. Paul to the left of Artie, Karen to the right.

It would seem that Karen has lost her 'Right hand of Art' status! (Not that she ever 'requested' it.) But, who will take her place??? Does she want it back??? (Hard to imagine as she's so seldom on frequency anymore.) Did she ever want it to begin with???

Perhaps Karen is again on vacation? Or is there now 'infighting' behind the scenes for this 'coveted' position? Of course, Artie has the only say in this matter.

But, ahhh, the questions left by a flash in the pan...

The question is: What did Karen EVER give to me???

She once bought an old partially functioning Yeseau transceiver she bought for $35 on eBay (she said).

I purchased a pizza. I loaned her hundreds of dollars worth of software for her computer.

When the Yeasu DID NOT work for me; I called Karen Larimore. She came and picked it up. I again bought us a pizza.

So just WHAT did the liar Karen GIVE to me??? Let Karen come forward and state otherwise!

And just what kind of relationship do these two have: the worshiper and stalker Karen, and the worshiped, Art Bell?

Art does not want to see Karens' lies, face the reality of her seeking him out. If he did, what would that make him look like?

The emperor is definitely naked. Not only naked, but a mean-spirited egocentric, AFRAID of finding out and dealing with the truth.
